What will we be doing? With the Olympics now delayed in Japan, they continue here in Montana!

This summer, the world was meant to be engrossed in the most elite contemporary sporting competition of our times: the 2020 Olympics. Competitors from around the world face off in events that test their speed, agility, stamina, and perseverance, representing the best of the best in their countries for a world-wide audience.

In Helena, Montana, an audacious group of young artists will create and record their own Olympics event. These leaders will develop individual and team activities and broadcast their competition and results in a final video project. Events range from serious to silly, including anything from sprinting and biking to egg races and spit-ball competitions and everything in between. Camp participants will develop their own activities, and direct scenes to document the whole event.

Meet your instructor!

Julynn is a movement/dance artist and educator who works with all ages and abilities. One of her favorite reminders is that “balance” is a verb to practice, not a noun to achieve. In her life, she balances idealism with action, serious conviction with humor, and the chaos of artistic practice with nicely organized Excel spreadsheets. She loves hiking, gardening, and nature documentaries and never passes up the opportunity for a good pun. She is grateful to have worked with some of the amazing arts nonprofits in Helena including Cohesion Dance Project, the Holter Museum, and the Myrna Loy Center, and can’t wait for this upcoming summer of creativity and joy!
